Nina Sawant | Circus Artist

Nina’s circus performances have been described as “breathtakingly beautiful and dangerously heartfelt.” She is known for her graceful lines and clever choreography as well as her creative approach to act creation, costuming, and inventing new apparatuses.

Nina performs all around the San Francisco Bay Area, and travels worldwide for shows and events. As an aerialist, Nina performs aerial silks, aerial hoop, aerial globe, aerial cube, aerial duo, aerial bartending, and lollipop lyra. On the ground, she performs cyr wheel, duo cyr wheel, and contortion cube, along with a variety of ambient props including fan veils and feather fans.

Nina is a co-founder of The Dahlias, a woman of color led ensemble of aerialists, contortionists, and dancers. The Dahlias provide cohesive cirque entertainment for private and special events, and are well known for their signature butterfly aerial duet.

Theatrical Shows

Nina works with world renowned circus companies to create characters for theatrical stage shows: aerial Chewbacca, enchanted butterflies, treacherous mer-creature, or aging grandmother to name a few. Whether she’s creating magical costume effects or launching her cyr wheel into the air, she pushes the boundaries of theatrical presentation of circus acts.

Creative
